The Impact of Faith, Knowledge, and Positive Environment on Personal Transformation

I begin with the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Seeking refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, I recite the opening verse. “Rabbi Shrah Li Sadri Wa Yassir Li Amri” (My Lord, expand my chest and ease my task), and ponder upon the pure word, “La ilaha illallah” (There is no deity except Allah).

Its analogy is like a pure and fruitful tree; a robust, well-rooted, and strong tree, symbolizing steadfastness. Its foundation is solid, and its branches, termed “branches” in the sky, are in the heavens. The roots are firmly grounded, and the trunk stands upright, resembling a tree with an unwavering foundation.

The comparison continues, portraying the believer as a tree that consistently bears fruit, representing the ongoing production of good deeds. The metaphor emphasizes that, like the tree, the believer remains evergreen and continuously provides benefits to others, serving as a lesson for those seeking guidance and understanding.

In contrast, the example of impure speech is disclosed as an evil and impure tree, swiftly uprooted and exposed. Its roots are shallow, lacking stability and strength, and it is promptly removed from the surface. The metaphor cautions against engaging in impure actions that lack a strong foundation.

The narrative concludes with a reminder of Allah’s support for those who embrace faith with strength and conviction. Such individuals, rooted in firm belief, navigate both worldly and eternal life with resilience. Allah deals with the oppressors, while the believers are granted success. The metaphor of the pure word is highlighted, drawing a parallel to the example of a righteous Muslim as an admirable and robust tree.

The discussion extends to the Hadith, where the believer is compared to a date palm tree, symbolizing consistency and perennial growth in faith. The dialogue emphasizes the significance of a steadfast foundation, drawing inspiration from the strong and consistent nature of the date palm tree.

**Translation:**
Let’s discuss worship; its branches are the dealings that bear fruit and flowers, much like the joy found among date trees. So, what is this? Ethics and the four components of faith – beliefs encompassing faith in Allah, angels, prophets, books, the Day of Judgment, and good and bad destinies. These are the types of faith that a person can express with the root. Faith in various aspects like prayer, fasting, pilgrimage, charity, and more are part of it. As it progresses upward, what happens next? Branches spread everywhere, affecting everyone, including our human interactions – human rights, which can be referred to as branches.

Root and trunk represent the rights related to Allah, and the upper part represents the rights of humans. Rights that include parents, neighbors, ordinary people, and even animals; it involves rewards and punishments for all our actions. And what is its beauty? The ethics of all these things, which are the flowers and fruits. What are ethics? Flowers and fruits, meaning the result is in such a way. If a tree has no flowers and fruits, ethics are not good; there is no beauty inside it. Now, you see that when a tree is planted, how does it grow? It needs water, light, and air. It takes its food from sunlight and the ground, and it thrives in a happy environment. Four or five things are required: water to keep the promise alive, knowledge, air, and sunlight. It is the environment that helps create a strong tree.

The Quran is light; the love of Allah is its essence, and it illuminates the darkness in the hearts. The Quran’s purpose is to act like light, just as the sun works. It functions like carbon dioxide absorption and oxygen release; it absorbs the carbon dioxide of the market, that is, negative things, and turns it into its nutrition. It also emits beneficial gases. Similarly, a believer sees various kinds of wrong things as lessons, and positive things come out of it. For him, it becomes an environment, sometimes through adversity or against his will. It becomes a source of improvement, and he corrects himself.

When a person becomes a pure tree, faith enters within him, and he gains knowledge. He also acquires a positive environment. If he has an abundant environment, he transforms it into positivity. These things bring about a change in a person, affecting his thoughts first. This change is positive; the impact of the pure word starts with the person, and then And every advice continues that if you plant more trees, if you plant trees, then a tree has countless abilities and virtues within it. It can be further contemplated on, but for now, let’s read again what you haven’t seen how Allah describes it. A pure word, what is a pure word? It adopts the form of a pure tree, that it settles in the heart of a believer. Its roots are strong, for the strength of the roots is essential. Where the roots are strong, faith is strong. Where there is no strong foundation, there is no strong faith, no trust. The person who does not establish his own feet and flies with the winds, what benefit can he provide for someone else? Now see, if you are stumbling, can you support someone else? If you are falling, can you catch someone else if he falls? The person who is confident and faithful in himself will also support others. You must have seen that when a strong storm blows, the strong trees remain rooted, but those that are a bit weak fall. I often take refuge in their support over many trees. Sometimes, the weak plants climb on the big trees and provide support for them. Even weapons benefit from solid ground, and heavenly forces from there also help the tree grow. Human is made from clay, isn’t it? Where is our root, where do we get food from the soil for our existence, for growth? We take it from the earth, right? And the physical nourishment comes from the soil, and spiritual nourishment comes from the sky. If a plant gets food from the ground, then the beauty comes in the tree, not just by taking food from the ground. Where does green meter come from? I mean, the minerals of the earth. When a tree uses it, it becomes powerful, just as we don’t eat food just to indulge. Good food, the food that he said, a person who eats good food with the intention of being powerful and doing better work, so his good eating is also worship. But empty land is not enough until there is heavenly sustenance. Then if we are physically extremely weak, what will we read in the Quran, what will we do? If we do not understand half the thing, then what will we tell the children when we go home? This Quran is one of the best examples in many examples. He started to become a clean tree and the space will be filled with greenery. There is a good couplet of Allama Iqbal, that purity is self and also the power of majesty. On one side, the human is a conqueror, that is, the quality of Allah’s conquest is also within him, where the wrong talk is, he should also be soft on it. We generally understand that a person who is on religion should be soft on wrong things. We are tough, but to become a believer, he has to become powerful on wrong things. Okay, bad word example, the example of impure talk, the example of wrong talk is like a wicked tree that has been uprooted. It is uprooted from above the ground, that is, its root is so shallow that it comes in hand with a little effort. In the same way, falsehood does not have any place there, it will not be weighted there. There will be no acceptance in the divine court because there was a flaw in the intention there, and work was done in doubtful and temporal emotions. Complete faith and trust, not with deep faith and trust, that act will end with opposition, as deep as its roots are deep. Like a tree doesn’t fall when a storm comes, but the one whose root is damaged, whose intention is damaged, whose originality is damaged, where there is hypocrisy inside, where there is corruption inside, where there is a flaw inside, where there is weakness in faith, it will give a signal. If the action is deep-rooted, it will end with opposition. As the wind blows, the tree does not fall quickly, but with a little effort, a powerful hand comes in and it is enough to remove it. In the same way, for the bad tree, or for the jarring of the tree, a little effort is enough, and you will see that strong trees live year after year, while bad trees end in a few days. I mean, the uprooted tree, like the thorny tree that is uprooted from above the ground. From above the top, that is, its root is so shallow that it is uprooted with a little effort. In the same way, falsehood has no place for them, that is, there is no place for them in the balance, meaning that there is no place for them in the court of God. Because there was a flaw in the intention and work was done in doubtful and temporal emotions. Only when the action’s soul is deep, the action will end with opposition, just as the action will not be stopped in the place where there are false talks. For them, there will be no acceptance in the divine court because there was a flaw in the intention, and work was done in doubtful and temporal emotions. One who will be deep-rooted in faith, deep-rooted in faith, he will not be stopped by the act of opposition, just as there is no place for false talks in the balance. When the wind blows, the tree of virtue does not fall. If a person is on religion, he should also be soft on wrong things.
